Turn left on paved FR 2329 and follow it past Takhlakh Lake Campground for 3.5 miles to the West Fork trailhead on the right, 4,700 feet above sea level. THE TRAIL

This makes an excellent hike for wilderness pedestrians camped at Takhlakh Lake Campground or any of the other Forest Service campgrounds nearby. It’s a moderate climb through open pine forest and meadowland shining with wildflowers in the summer; there are incredible views of Mount Adams on the way up and Mount Rainier on the way down.
